The official version of the discussion paper, which is intended to help start the conversation on a vision for Our Mountain's Future.
We consulted extensively during the Our Mountain's Future review
Early on, we held public consultation on Our Mountain’s Future from 23 October to 4 December 2024.
All Tasmanians were given a chance to have their say.
We prepared a short discussion paper to help start the conversation. It introduced the three themes for the review and included discussion prompts.

Easy read version
This version of the discussion paper is shorter and easier to read.
During public consultation, we invited:
- all Tasmanian residents to take our survey
- any person, group or organisation to make a written submission
- young people to have their say through a postcard campaign
- visitors to Tasmania to contribute through the Tasmanian Visitor Survey

Development of the Action Plan
We conducted further consultation throughout the final phase of the review, to inform the development of the Action Plan.
We continued to engage in discussions with a broad range of stakeholders including:
- Wellington Park Management Trust
- Local councils
- TasWater
- Tourism industry including local businesses and peak bodies
- Fire management agencies including the Tasmania Fire Service, local councils, the Trust and Parks and Wildlife Service
- Aboriginal organisations
